New Year 2025: Starts on Wednesday, ends on Wednesday
The New Year 2025 is starting on 'Wednesday' and is
ending on 'Wednesday'. Such a calendar made by the combination of days
and dates has come for the third time in the 21st century. Earlier, this
calendar has come twice in this century in 2003 and 2014. In this
century, such a coincidence of the repetition of the calendar of 2025
will come a total of 11 times.
The coincidence of the repetition of this
calendar in the century will also come in the upcoming years 2031,
2042, 2053, 2059, 2070, 2081, 2087 and 2098. In the last century also,
such coincidence of repetition of the calendar of this year happened 11
times in 1902, 1913, 1919, 1930, 1941, 1947, 1958, 1969, 1975, 1986 and
1997. Repetition of calendars happens according to a simple mathematical
process. The process of repetition of a calendar comes after 11 or 6
years in the same century for a general or non-leap year.
There are

calendars for leap years too. There are 365 days in a general year, in
which there are 52 weeks and one extra day. Therefore, the day of 1st
January is the same as the day of 31st December. Such interesting facts
related to the calendar have been presented by Atul Saxena, a
mathematics teacher at Lucknow Public School, on the basis of his
self-made digit-code table for hundreds of years.
Digit-code
calendar for any year can also be made verbally. For the calendar of
the year 2025, the month digit-code for the months from January to
February is 2, 5, 5, 1, 3, 6, 1, 4, 0, 2, 5, 0 respectively. Adding the
month digit-code of a date to the total and dividing it by 7 gives the
remainder to know the digit of the day. For Sunday to Saturday, the day
digit-code is determined from zero to six respectively. In case of a sum
less than seven, the sum is equal to the day digit-code.
To know the
day of 26 January 2025, add the month digit-code 2 to 26 and divide the
sum 28 by 7. The remainder obtained is zero, which indicates that the
day is Sunday. Whereas for 2 April 2025, add the of month digit-code 1
to 2, and the sum is 3, which is less than 7. In such a situation, the
sum 3 indicates that the day is Wednesday.
